About This Course

The PhD program at The Scripps Institution of Oceanography is thoughtfully structured to provide advanced, discipline-focused training while encouraging interdisciplinary research. Candidates who already hold a master’s degree in oceanography or a closely related discipline follow a slightly modified path, completing 15 additional course credits beyond the master’s degree, 15 GRAD research credits, and six related area credits.
